China hopes that the upcoming visit of French president's diplomatic adviser Emmanuel Bonne will further promote the steady development of China-France and China-EU relations, foreign ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said on Thursday at a regular press conference.
Bonne will be in China from Oct 9 to 13. During his visit, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, will hold a new round of China-France Strategic Dialogue with Bonne.
"During the visit of French president's diplomatic adviser Emmanuel Bonne to China, Director Wang Yi will hold a new round of China-France Strategic Dialogue with him, engaging in strategic communication on deepening cooperation across various fields and in-depth exchange of views on international and regional issues of mutual interest. Last December, French President Emmanuel Macron paid his fourth state visit to China, and the two heads of state held long, deep-going discussions and reached important consensus on strengthening strategic communication, upholding open cooperation and jointly safeguarding multilateralism. China looks forward to using this dialogue to enhance coordination and cooperation on bilateral and multilateral issues, thereby promoting the steady development of China-France and China-EU relations," said Mao.
