Russian Defense Ministry launches AI platform for drone training

The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Monday that it has established an AI-based training platform to enhance drone combat capabilities.

The ministry said the dedicated platform for training military AI neural networks makes real-world combat footage available to drone developers, to enhance the intelligent combat capabilities of the drones.

The platform aggregates real-world operational video footage of FPV (first-person-view) drones as well as other multi-rotor and fixed-wing UAVs, and establishes a unified data classifier to enable relevant developers to conduct AI model training, according to the ministry.

Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on the same day that the attack on the Ukrainian capital had resulted in one death and 11 injuries, and further details regarding the attack were being verified.
