China appreciates Djibouti's adherence to the one-China principle and hopes that Djibouti will continue to firmly support China on issues concerning its core interests, Wang said.

Wang said that China values the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Djibouti and is willing to further deepen pragmatic cooperation with Djibouti, adding that both sides should give full play to China's zero-tariff policy and Djibouti's geographical advantages.

China encourages its enterprises to invest and operate in Djibouti, Wang added.

Since the beginning of this year, Wang said, China has proposed four principles on the constructive participation of relevant parties in the resolution of African hotspot issues, and proposed a series of initiatives on promoting peace and security in the Middle East. These efforts, he noted, demonstrate China's role as a responsible major country and align with people's aspirations for peace in the region.

China is willing to work with Djibouti and other countries to enhance communication and cooperation, strive to ease tensions, and earnestly maintain peace and stability in the region, Wang said.

Omar said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Djibouti has been developing relations with China based on the principles of mutual trust and mutual respect for each other's core interests, adding that Djibouti is willing to further enrich the connotation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Omar expressed the appreciation of Djibouti for China's contributions to promoting lasting world peace, adding that the two countries share broad consensus on abiding by the purposes of the UN Charter and peacefully resolving disputes, and Djibouti stands ready to enhance communication and dialogue with China on international issues.

The first batch of winter migratory birds have arrived at the Hengling Lake Nature Reserve in Xiangyin County of central China's Hunan Province, about half a month earlier than in previous years.

Common cranes, Eurasian spoonbills and water birds including falcated ducks, ruddy shelducks and cormorants are seen strolling about and pecking for food at the lake.

Sitting at the confluence of East Dongting Lake and South Dongting Lake, the lake serves as a vital stopover and wintering ground along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway.

Staff members said the reserve will receive the peak number of migratory birds in mid-November every year.

Workers are conducting regular patrols and strengthening the reserve management to create a favorable environment for the migratory birds.
