Singapore Urban Mobility Week 2026 Spotlights the Future of Urban Transport

Singapore Urban Mobility Week 2026 Spotlights the Future of Urban Transport

PALEMBANG, Indonesia, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Changhong Indonesia has opened its first dedicated retail store in Palembang, Indonesia. Featuring room-style displays of TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, and washing machines, the store demonstrates how these appliances work together. This format offers consumers an intuitive way to browse and compare products, while establishing a strategic foothold for Changhong to expand its regional presence and advance its whole-home appliance strategy.

Vaclav Lian, general manager of Changhong Indonesia, said at the opening event, "The Palembang store marks an important milestone in Changhong's growth in Indonesia. We hope it will bring us closer to local consumers and demonstrate how our products can be part of everyday life. We will continue expanding our retail network and aligning it more closely with consumer needs."

On opening day, shoppers explored multi-category displays designed around diverse household needs. Moving beyond traditional single-product retail, the store unites Changhong's broad portfolio to help customers shift from buying individual appliances to designing a fully outfitted home.

Since entering the Indonesian market in 1998, Changhong has expanded its local operations and built a solid local foundation through the quality of its products and after-sales service. The new store turns that established product and distribution base into a direct retail experience built around the Changhong brand.

As the first of its kind for Changhong in Indonesia, the new Palembang location gives shoppers a hands-on space to explore products, while providing Changhong with a stronger platform to present its brand and showcase the breadth of its portfolio. The store significantly expands the company's physical retail presence in Indonesia and will serve as a model for future stores tailored to demand in different parts of the country.

From selling through established retail channels to opening a store of its own, Changhong is moving beyond market coverage to create a deeper brand experience in Indonesia. Its growing e-commerce business has helped the company expand its reach and connect with more shoppers. By pairing digital marketing and customer acquisition with hands-on in-store experiences, Changhong is creating a stronger link between its online and physical channels. Looking ahead, the company plans to broaden its reach across Indonesia, giving shoppers greater choice and convenience as well as more ways to discover and buy its appliances, while building both its brand and its business.
