MEPSGEN Launches NanoCalibur® Mini for Small-Volume Nanoparticle Formulation

2026-10-26 22:00 Last Updated At:22:17

  • Automated system enables rapid, reproducible formulation screening with minimal sample consumption
  • Completes the NanoCalibur® Series (Mini, Lab, Pro, GMP), supporting a seamless scale-up path from early research to GMP manufacturing
  • BOSTON, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- MEPSGEN US, Inc., a global innovator in drug delivery system platforms, today announced the launch of NanoCalibur® Mini, an automated system for small-volume nanoparticle formulation designed for early-stage drug discovery and development.

Nanoparticles are delivery vehicles that carry therapeutic payloads to target sites in the body, and they are central to next-generation modalities such as mRNA and gene therapies. Early-stage research requires repeated testing of many raw materials and process conditions, so the ability to generate fast, consistent results from limited material is essential.

NanoCalibur® Mini formulates lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and polymeric nanoparticles at volumes of 0.1–3 mL. Built on MEPSGEN's proprietary microfluidic technology, it delivers precise, stable microfluidic flow control for rapid and highly reproducible formulation. Researchers can choose between two single-use microfluidic cartridges, 0.1–0.4 mL and 0.4–3 mL, to match their application, from early formulation screening through a range of preclinical studies. By enabling many formulation conditions to be tested quickly with minimal material, Mini helps accelerate development timelines while reducing reagent consumption and experimental costs.

One production architecture, from discovery to GMP

With the addition of Mini, the NanoCalibur® Series now spans four systems (Mini, Lab, Pro, and GMP), allowing customers to select the right platform for their development stage and production scale.

The defining feature of the series is a consistent formulation environment at every scale. NanoCalibur® Mini to Lab and to GMP uses the same microfluidic mixing pattern, with the same structure and dimensions. Rather than redesigning the mixer or changing the formulation conditions as production grows, NanoCalibur® increases throughput by parallelizing identical mixing units. This design is intended to reduce the need for process re-optimization during scale-up and technology transfer, while preserving nanoparticle quality and batch-to-batch reproducibility.

    Protecting payload integrity at scale

In large-scale nanoparticle manufacturing, the high flow rates required for throughput can generate shear forces that damage sensitive payloads such as mRNA and reduce the potency. The NanoCalibur® Series is engineered to maintain stable shear conditions as production scales, helping preserve payload integrity and deliver consistent nanoparticle quality. More importantly, preserving payload potency will have the high potential to reduce the dose required for therapeutic effect, possibly addressing the high-dosage toxicity such as LNPs.

    Launch promotion

To mark the launch of NanoCalibur® Mini, MEPSGEN will run a series of promotional offers through the end of the year for research institutions and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies evaluating the system. Details will be announced on the MEPSGEN website and the company's official LinkedIn page.

"With NanoCalibur® Mini, we have extended our product lineup so that we can support customers more precisely at every stage, from early research through GMP manufacturing," said YongTae Kim, CEO of MEPSGEN. "We will continue to broaden the applications and customer base of the NanoCalibur® Series and strengthen our position in the global nanomedicine manufacturing market."

MEPSGEN Launches NanoCalibur® Mini for Small-Volume Nanoparticle Formulation

PALEMBANG, Indonesia, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Changhong Indonesia has opened its first dedicated retail store in Palembang, Indonesia. Featuring room-style displays of TVs, air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, and washing machines, the store demonstrates how these appliances work together. This format offers consumers an intuitive way to browse and compare products, while establishing a strategic foothold for Changhong to expand its regional presence and advance its whole-home appliance strategy.

Vaclav Lian, general manager of Changhong Indonesia, said at the opening event, "The Palembang store marks an important milestone in Changhong's growth in Indonesia. We hope it will bring us closer to local consumers and demonstrate how our products can be part of everyday life. We will continue expanding our retail network and aligning it more closely with consumer needs."

On opening day, shoppers explored multi-category displays designed around diverse household needs. Moving beyond traditional single-product retail, the store unites Changhong's broad portfolio to help customers shift from buying individual appliances to designing a fully outfitted home.

Since entering the Indonesian market in 1998, Changhong has expanded its local operations and built a solid local foundation through the quality of its products and after-sales service. The new store turns that established product and distribution base into a direct retail experience built around the Changhong brand.

As the first of its kind for Changhong in Indonesia, the new Palembang location gives shoppers a hands-on space to explore products, while providing Changhong with a stronger platform to present its brand and showcase the breadth of its portfolio. The store significantly expands the company's physical retail presence in Indonesia and will serve as a model for future stores tailored to demand in different parts of the country.

From selling through established retail channels to opening a store of its own, Changhong is moving beyond market coverage to create a deeper brand experience in Indonesia. Its growing e-commerce business has helped the company expand its reach and connect with more shoppers. By pairing digital marketing and customer acquisition with hands-on in-store experiences, Changhong is creating a stronger link between its online and physical channels. Looking ahead, the company plans to broaden its reach across Indonesia, giving shoppers greater choice and convenience as well as more ways to discover and buy its appliances, while building both its brand and its business.
