Russia's strategic nuclear-powered submarine "Generalissimo Suvorov" conducted a test launch of a Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) from a submerged position in the Sea of Okhotsk, the Russian Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday.
The missile's warheads successfully arrived at the designated area of the test range at the scheduled time, the ministry said, adding that the launch was carried out in accordance with its combat training plan.
The Generalissimo Suvorov, capable of carrying 16 Bulava ICBMs, is a Project 955A Borei-A-class strategic nuclear-powered submarine serving Russia's Pacific Fleet.
The ministry confirmed that the submarine remains in combat-ready condition.
