The United Nations on Wednesday urges diplomacy over military action following reports of potential renewed U.S. attacks on Iran.
During a daily press briefing at UN Headquarters, Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, said that they've noticed that the United States has reportedly warned Gulf countries for military campaign against Iran after the midterm elections, but they've not been privy to any information that's not been reported.
He said the UN has continued to push for diplomacy.
"I think the world needs more diplomacy; we do not need more military action," the spokesman stressed.
Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States might launch another "little Epic Fury," referring to the U.S. and Israeli bombing campaign in the spring, or Iran could agree to a deal.
In early October, Trump said that the United States would not attack Iran before the Nov 3 midterm elections.
