Security cooperation between the United States and Japan should not undermine regional peace and stability, and should not target other countries or harm their interests, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun at a regular press conference in Beijing on Thursday.
The United States and Japan announced in the Philippines on Wednesday that they agreed to establish a facility in Japan for the joint production of advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles.
Commenting on that, Guo said, "The development of bilateral relations and security cooperation between the United States and Japan should not undermine regional peace and stability, and should not target other countries or harm their interests. Since Japan's current administration came to power, it has breached international and domestic laws in the name of responding to threats, challenging the post-war international order, and threatening regional peace and stability. The international community must stay on high alert and resolutely contain Japan's relevant moves."
