Muse Fest HK 2026 to feature fabulous programmes in November
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is holding Muse Fest HK 2026 (Muse Fest) from today (October 31) to November 30. The LCSD's 17 museums and art spaces will roll out over 60 fabulous programmes, inviting members of the public and tourists to explore Hong Kong's rich and distinctive history, art and science, while demonstrating how museums connect with the community and pass on cultural heritage.
Kicking off Muse Fest, the Fun@Museum Carnival is being held today and tomorrow (October 31 and November 1) at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza on the theme "A Collage of Past and Present, Hong Kong Story" to echo the latest permanent exhibition "Hong Kong Story" held at the Hong Kong Museum of History. The carnival will feature three Hong Kong-themed installations that integrate old Hong Kong elements with a pixelated visual language. These include a "Grid Tea Stall" and a "Giant Pixel Egg Tart" collaging station; a traditional Chinese herbal "Hong Kong Medicine Shop" where visitors can experience medicine-gathering; and a "Happy Fortune Amusement Park" which recreates a coin-throwing stall of yesteryear and invites members of the public to evoke fond childhood memories.
There will also be a number of free workshops evoking Hong Kong nostalgia, including mahjong colouring, herbal tea sign keychain making and pawnshop signboard painting. Members of the public and tourists can also take part in intangible cultural heritage and scientific activities such as an interactive Pixiu dance activity and solar observation. Participants who join multiple activities will receive exquisite themed souvenirs.
In addition, various museums will host fun days during weekends in November, offering special programmes suitable for all ages that enable the public to delve into and savour the cultural heritage of Hong Kong, while deepening their understanding of each museum.
Other highlights include guided tours and workshops along the Ping Shan Heritage Trail; the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Dialogue x Hakka Walled Villages - Hakka Architecture Guided Tour & Hehu Xinju 3D Model Workshop to be held at the Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Centre; and sensory exploration tours of the Art Oasis at Oi!.
In addition to the museums under the LCSD, Muse Fest continues to engage various partners, including 10 museums of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Museum Alliance and 24 Macao and local art organisations. Muse Fest is a contribution programme of the 6th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture and Arts Festival.
