MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. & CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov 4, 2026--

Reliable Robotics, the leader in autonomous aircraft systems, has completed its first autonomous cross-country flight in its upgraded Cessna 208B Caravan. The two-day, 1,375 nautical mile journey began at the Albuquerque International Sunport Airport (KABQ), included a stop in Shreveport, Louisiana (KDTN) and culminated with a fully autonomous landing at Florida’s historic Kennedy Space Center (KTTS) for the UP.Summit, an annual event highlighting the future of transportation.

The Caravan integrated seamlessly throughout the National Airspace System (NAS), completing autonomous taxi, takeoff, en route and landing operations throughout the flight, while carrying hundreds of pounds of payload. Equipped with the Reliable Autonomy System (RAS), which enables full gate-to-gate autonomous operations, the aircraft operated under instrument flight rules (IFR) throughout the flight, utilizing the RAS to safely aviate, navigate and communicate. A remote pilot stationed at Reliable’s headquarters in Mountain View, California, communicated with air traffic control and commanded the aircraft in real time, from more than 1,000 miles away. Zero interventions occurred from the onboard pilot during the operation, including during poor weather conditions causing low visibility, known as instrument meteorological conditions (IMC).

“This operation was an important milestone toward certification and commercial operations of the Reliable Autonomy System,” said Robert Rose, CEO and co-founder, Reliable Robotics. “What’s most exciting to me is the fact that the flights themselves were not exciting. Fully automated management of the entire aircraft: This is the future of flight!”

Reliable is certifying its industry-first autonomy system for commercial use in the United States through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The company holds the only FAA-accepted certification plan and means of compliance for continuous autopilot engagement. The cross country trip validates the operational readiness of the company’s dual-use autonomy technology for commercial freight and defense logistics operations.

LONDON (AP) — British Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy asked regulators Wednesday to scrutinize the proposed 1.6 billion-pound ($2.3 billion) takeover of ITV’s media and entertainment arm by Sky, the U.K.-based TV, internet and mobile phone provider owned by U.S. company Comcast.

Nandy announced her decision to issue a so-called Public Interest Intervention Notice, paving the way for the Competition and Markets Authority, or CMA, and media regulator Ofcom to probe the takeover.

The pair will report back to her on the impact of the deal on the media landscape in the U.K. and its impact on free speech by Jan. 27. Following their reports, she may then decide to refer the deal to the CMA for a further in-depth investigation.

Nandy also said she will bring forward new streaming legislation in view of her “specific concerns” over the tie-up.

ITV, the U.K.'s largest commercial broadcaster, struck a deal in July to sell its media and entertainment division to Sky, in a move that would create a major competitor to the global streaming giants. The proposed deal includes ITV's terrestrial television channels and streaming service. ITV’s production arm, ITV Studios, known for shows such as the “I’m A Celebrity’’ series, will remain an independent company.

Sky said it believes the tie-up "is in the public interest, with clear commitments already made to protect ITV’s identity, public service broadcasting obligations and the distinct editorial voices of Sky News and ITV News.”

And ITV said it looks forward to “co-operating fully” with the investigation.

The combined Sky-ITV entity, if approved, is set to become part of NBCUniversal following the completion of its split from Comcast.
