Yemen's Houthi group said on Wednesday that the Saudi-led coalition had launched more than 100 attacks against multiple locations across Yemen over the past 24 hours, while the Houthis also struck targets inside Saudi Arabia, including the King Khalid International Airport.

Houthi military Spokesman Yahya Sarea said in a statement on social media platform X that the Saudi-led coalition had carried out 104 air and missile strikes over the past 24 hours, targeting Yemen's capital Sanaa and the provinces of Al-Jawf, Al-Bayda, Saada, Amran, Marib, Taiz and Lahj. The attacks caused dozens of casualties, most of them women and children.

The statement added that Saudi air and missile strikes on Yemen had totaled 4,136 since the latest round of military escalation.

The spokesman said in two other statements the same day that the Houthis had launched multiple military operations against targets inside Saudi Arabia.

According to one of the statements, the Houthis struck the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, with a ballistic missile that hit the target directly and caused severe damage to the airport.

The statement warned that the airport is currently unsafe. The Houthis once again called on global airlines, airport staff and passengers not to travel through Saudi airspace, except over the Mecca and Medina regions.

The other statement said the Houthis launched three military operations on Wednesday morning in Saudi Arabia: a drone strike on a radar facility on the Qahmah Peninsula, north of Jizan; a ballistic missile attack on the Akifa camp in Najran; and a ballistic missile strike on a command and control building of the border guard forces in Jizan.

Saudi Arabia has not yet responded to the Houthi statements.

Recent weeks have seen escalating cross-border hostilities between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, with Saudi strikes hitting Houthi-held areas in Yemen and the Houthis launching missiles and drones at Saudi Arabia.

Yemen has been mired in conflict since late 2014, when the Houthis seized the capital Sanaa and much of northern Yemen, prompting the Saudi-led coalition to intervene in 2015 in support of the Yemeni government.
