Seven products earned the Fake-Shop Detection Certification 2026.

How big is the fake-shop problem this season?

In its 2026 Holiday Shopping Scam Report, published Oct. 20, U.S. company Savi Security states that users of its Scamwise service report a new fake store roughly every three minutes, about 500 per day. The number of reported holiday-themed fake stores grew fivefold within 60 days. According to the report, 85% of fake stores disappear within two weeks.

Why do short-lived fake shops call for automated protection?

Shops that vanish within days are hard to block in advance, and familiar warning signs such as spelling mistakes or poor design are becoming less reliable. Security software that analyzes websites as they are visited can close this gap.

"Fake shops have become so convincing that even experienced online shoppers can fall for them, especially when Black Friday, Black Week and the holiday season put everyone in bargain-hunting mode. Security software that warns you before you enter your payment details adds a valuable layer of protection," said Thomas Uhlemann, cybersecurity evangelist at AV-Comparatives.

How did AV-Comparatives test?

From Oct. 1 to 7, 2026, AV-Comparatives tested products against 500 fake-shop URLs, randomly selected from a larger pool of URLs that were still online at the time of testing. A false-alarm test with 100 popular legitimate shopping websites was also conducted. To be certified, a product had to detect at least 80% of the fake shops without a single false alarm.

Which products were certified?

Avast Premium Security, Bitdefender Total Security, F-Secure Internet Security, Kaspersky Premium, NordVPN Next-gen antivirus, Norton 360 Deluxe and Norton VPN Ultimate.

What else can consumers do?

Check web addresses for misspellings, be wary of extreme discounts and pay with methods that offer buyer protection.

Fake Shops Surge Before Black Friday: AV-Comparatives Test Shows Which Products Protect Shoppers

WUHU, China, Nov. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Efficiently charging a vehicle during a coffee break is becoming a reality as low-carbon mobility advances. The 2026 International User Summit, co-presented by CHERY, OMODA|JAECOO, ICAUR, LEPAS and AiMOGA, took place in Wuhu, Anhui, from October 19 to 23. At the summit, the smart energy center integrating solar power, energy storage and charging showcased end-to-end solutions combining generation, storage, delivery and end use. More than 2,000 guests from around the world experienced how solar-generated electricity flows efficiently and how AI enables smart energy dispatch, transforming charging efficiency and enhancing users' mobility and lifestyle experiences.

Pioneering AC V2G Deployment at Scale. The smart energy center is a pioneering AC Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) demonstration station deployed at scale. Its integrated system creates a local microgrid and supports megawatt-level ultra-fast charging, with a rest area powered entirely by on-site renewable electricity where vehicles charge during a coffee break. A key feature is bidirectional V2G, letting EVs act as mobile energy storage units rather than simply consume electricity: they charge at lower tariffs off-peak, feed electricity back during peak demand to balance loads, and supply homes and communities during grid outages—reducing costs through smart tariff management while optimizing renewable utilization.

Integrated Technologies Deliver Reliable Energy. Drawing on the expertise of CHERY, OMODA|JAECOO, ICAUR, LEPAS and AiMOGA in renewable integration, storage and high-power transmission, the Volt-dragon Charger significantly reduces charging time, while the station can operate in island mode even during grid disruptions. The ecosystem is also exploring Superconducting Charging toward on-demand, seamless delivery. For home applications, the Energy Cube system brings solar power, storage and bidirectional charging into residential settings, while long-cycle-life Rhino batteries and early-stage solid-state battery research further support safety.

This brand ecosystem is advancing an integrated energy network across generation, storage, distribution and consumption, enabling NEVs to become active participants in smart energy grids and delivering practical avenues for global energy transition.

About OMODA & JAECOO. A youthful, personalized global brand co-creating a beautiful life with young people, OMODA builds the World's Leading Crossover Brand for Gen Z, while JAECOO champions elegant off-road driving.
