SHANGHAI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov 6, 2026--

At the China International Import Expo (CIIE), The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (NYSE: EL) today unveiled Mastering Skin Longevity, a breakthrough scientific innovation platform designed to advance the next era of skin science and transformative product innovation.

This press release features multimedia. View the full release here: https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20261106776704/en/

Moving beyond the study of individual Hallmarks of Aging, the platform focuses further upstream on the Master Regulators of Skin Longevity. These interconnected biological pathways and proteins influence multiple hallmarks at once. By deepening understanding of these systems and how they help support skin’s ability to repair, adapt and regenerate, Mastering Skin Longevity will guide the Company’s discovery across ingredients, technologies, formulations and future product innovation.

“Mastering Skin Longevity reflects how we are advancing the next era of skin science and innovation across our brand portfolio,” said Stéphane de La Faverie, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Estée Lauder Companies. “Building on 80 years of scientific leadership and two decades of pioneering longevity research, we are translating breakthrough scientific discoveries into products that consumers trust and love. We are proud to introduce this platform in China, a market at the forefront of scientific and consumer innovation.”

The Company’s authority in skin longevity is grounded in decades of breakthrough scientific research and innovation. For more than two decades, the Estée Lauder brand has pioneered research in areas including sirtuin biology, epigenetics, biological age and cellular repair. This research has powered innovations including Re-Nutriv’s exclusive SIRTIVITY-LP™ technology. Today, scientists across the Company’s Longevity Labs in Melville and Shanghai are advancing research into Master Regulators, including sirtuins, which regulate cellular repair, resilience, and stress response; AMPK, which regulates cellular energy and metabolic adaptation; and mTOR, which regulates cellular renewal, regeneration, and repair signaling.

“The Hallmarks of Aging help us understand what changes in skin over time. The Master Regulators help us investigate the biological systems that influence those changes,” said René Lammers, Executive Vice President and Chief Research & Innovation Officer, The Estée Lauder Companies. “By studying these systems together, we can create a more integrated foundation for discovery and identify new opportunities across ingredients, technologies, formulations and products.”

Mastering Skin Longevity will serve as a shared scientific foundation that brands across The Estée Lauder Companies can apply through their distinct areas of expertise and product philosophies.

Across the portfolio, brands will continue to explore longevity through different areas of focus. These include the Estée Lauder brand’s focus on sirtuin biology and epigenetics; La Mer’s leadership in cellular energy and visible skin renewal; Clinique’s clinically proven approach to helping slow the visible signs of aging and build skin resilience; Lab Series’ focus on optimizing skin performance for men; and The Ordinary’s evidence-based research into age-supporting ingredients and technologies that promote long-term visible skin health.

At CIIE, the Company also introduced the Skin Longevity Clock, an iconic visual representation of the Mastering Skin Longevity platform. Inspired by the precision and interconnected mechanisms of a fine timepiece, the Clock illustrates how the Master Regulators work together to influence multiple Hallmarks of Aging.

The Company also unveiled a comprehensive scientific white paper outlining its perspective on the evolution of skin longevity science and the role of the Master Regulators. The white paper incorporates insights from the Company’s Longevity Scientific Advisory Board, comprising researchers from China, Singapore and the United States, along with The Estée Lauder Companies’ scientists. The Estée Lauder brand also debuted the EstéeLab Longevity Mirror, an immersive experience designed to help consumers understand the factors that influence how skin ages.

ATLANTA (AP) — Zoo Atlanta’s newest pandas munched bamboo and lounged Friday during their public debut as smiling visitors lined up to welcome them.

Ping Ping, a male, and Fu Shuang, a female, arrived in September from China under a 10-year loan agreement, bringing the cuddly black-and-white bears back to the zoo after a two-year absence. After spending the past weeks getting acclimated to their habitat, the 6-year-old pandas greeted visitors in the newly renovated Arthur M. Blank Panda Grove.

Eight-year-old Rachel Sutherland and her family were visiting from Sacramento, California, and extended their vacation by a day to see the pandas.

“They’re amazing,” said Rachel. She said she was partial to Ping Ping because the name reminds her of the color pink.

Ping Ping has distinctive dark circles around his eyes, while Fu Shuang has a protruding forehead, according to Xinhua News Agency. Both were born at Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China.

The Atlanta zoo's panda enclosure had been empty since 2024, after four other pandas returned from the United States to China, ending a 25-year partnership amid strained relations between the two countries.

During a news conference Friday morning, Xie Feng, the Chinese ambassador to the U.S., said the pandas' arrival “marks the renewal of a decade-long bond between China and Zoo Atlanta.”

“We trust that under the loving care of Zoo Atlanta, the two pandas will eat happily, sleep soundly and grow healthy and strong in their new home, bringing twice the joy and happiness to everyone who loves them,” the ambassador said.

Georgia Tech student Kevin Wei, 18, said he'd been counting down until “panda day,” and felt especially connected to the animals because they are from his hometown of Chengdu.

“It's kind of like having a familiar bond,” Wei said. “Although I'm living in the U.S., I still can connect with myself and to China.”

China has long used pandas as part of its diplomacy globally, deploying the bears in loan programs as expressions of goodwill and letting loan agreements lapse when tensions arise.

Zoo Atlanta is one of three U.S. zoos that now house the popular bears.

The National Zoo in Washington returned three pandas to China in 2023 before accepting new arrivals Bao Li and Qing Bao in October 2024. The San Diego Zoo debuted two pandas in August 2024.

A decade ago, the International Union for Conservation of Nature reclassified giant pandas from endangered to vulnerable, reflecting pandas' growing numbers in the wild in China.

Resident Kim Herres, 76, said she has been visiting Zoo Atlanta ever since the city first received pandas in 1999. She said she sees pandas as a symbol of the world “doing the right thing” to protect animals.

“I'm just glad we've gotten them back,” she said. “Hopefully we won't make the Chinese mad, and they won't come get them.”
