Huizhou: The road to the city of music
Music is in the air in Huizhou as the citizens need music to wake up and shake up to welcome their every unforgettable moment. Huizhou has been known as an 「Art Treasure」 for a very long time, of which its traditional folk songs have been widely known, such as the HuiDong Fisherman’s songs (National Intangible Cultural Heritage), Hakka Shan’ge (Mountain songs) and Dongjiang folk songs. Founded last October, the Huizhou Symphony Orchestra is the fourth symphony hall named after the city. The majority of its members are China’s Gen Z and it is believed that they will inject more and more surprises into the music.
