A festive ambiance is sweeping through China, with streets adorned with national flags and patriotic decorations in celebration of the upcoming National Day, which falls on October 1.

In Beijing, many roads and alleys have been decorated with national flags, red lanterns and flowers to enhance the festive atmosphere.

Botanical sculptures with diverse themes have been displayed along the streets, attracting many residents and tourists to take photos.

The lively spirit of the holiday has also been observed in the cities of Shenzhen and Jiangmen in south China's Guangdong Province, where numerous streets and shops have been adorned with national flags.

"National flags have been hung on both sides of the roads, allowing us to experience the rich atmosphere of the National Day in advance. We hope that our motherland will continue to prosper and thrive," said Peng, a resident of Jiangmen City.

In the Macao Special Administrative Region, decorations themed around the National Day have been arranged along the main roads and at prominent landmarks.

The local government plans to organize various activities, including a fireworks display and a public festival.

"We will soon celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, an event that everyone is eagerly anticipating. Over the past 25 years since Macao's return to the motherland, we have been delighted to witness the steady prosperity of Macao's economy. The Macao SAR government has launched numerous promotional activities. Various non-governmental organizations and stores have also made extensive preparations to ensure a delightful experience for tourists visiting Macao during this holiday," said Lei Cheok Kuan, chairman of the Industry and Commerce Association of Macao Central and Southern Districts.

"Under the policy of 'One Country, Two Systems,' Macao has seen significant development, especially in the tourism industry. From its relatively small scale in the early days to its present prosperity, this progress is inseparable from the care and favorable policies provided by our country to Macao. Therefore, Macao's remarkable development over the past 25 years since its return to the motherland is inseparable from the strong support of our country. I wish for the continued development and prosperity of our country," said Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, director of the Macao Government Tourism Office.

More than 20 films will hit Chinese screens during the three-day Qingming Festival holiday from Saturday to Monday, spanning genres from revolutionary historical dramas, realism movies to suspense thrillers, according to the China Film Administration on Thursday.

Revolutionary historical films such as Blood-Spattered Cliff, Eight Sons, Eight Soldiers, and Half Of The Quilt, will pay tribute to martyrs through the lens.

Three films -- It's OK, Now I Met Her, and Sunshine Women's Choir -- tell moving stories of love, growth, and reconciliation.

It's OK is a contemporary family comedy that follows a mother and daughter navigating their joyful yet turbulent relationship. Now I Met Her tells a rebellious teenager who gets to know his late mother through her old diary. Sunshine Women's Choir, a film from the Taiwan region of China, portrays the "perfect" maternal love of "imperfect mothers."

The suspense film Game of Identity tells the story of two people from different backgrounds who accidentally swap lives, setting off an unexpected adventure. The documentary films Seeking Nature: The Code of Life, and Missions to the Moon (Part One) explore the connection between humanity and science.

Imported films from different countries, including The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2, Project Hail Mary, and Hoppers, will deliver spectacular cinematic experiences to audiences.

The Qingming Festival, or Tomb-Sweeping Day, falls on April 5 this year. It is a traditional Chinese festival for honoring the deceased and paying tribute to ancestors. The holiday also provides a short break for Chinese citizens as they engage in outdoor activities and sightseeing.
