Xi arrives at Peru's Government Palace for welcome ceremony held by President Boluarte

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived at Peru's Government Palace in Lima on Thursday to attend a welcome ceremony held by Peruvian President Dina Boluarte.

President Xi arrived in Peru on Thursday to attend the 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, and pay a state visit to the Latin American country at the invitation of President Boluarte.

The 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting will be held on Friday and Saturday in Peru's capital Lima.

After attending the APEC meeting and completing his state visit to Peru, President Xi will travel to Rio de Janeiro from Nov 17 to 21 to attend the 19th G20 Summit and pay a state visit to Brazil at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, strengthened 20 pips to 7.0108 against the U.S. dollar Monday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.

In China's spot foreign exchange market, the yuan is allowed to rise or fall by 2 percent from the central parity rate each trading day.

The central parity rate of the yuan against the U.S. dollar is based on a weighted average of prices offered by market makers before the opening of the interbank market each business day.
