China's urban rail transit system continued its strong growth in November, handling 2.71 billion passenger trips, a 5.2 percent increase from the same period last year, said the Ministry of Transport on Monday.
A total of 313 urban rail transit lines are currently operational in 54 Chinese cities across 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, spanning a total distance of 10,522.1 kilometers, according to the ministry.
Despite a 2.2 percent monthly decline, November witnessed a substantial year-on-year increase of 130 million passenger trips.
