Transport Department Invites Applications for New Green Minibus Service Licences in Hong Kong

Applications invited for operating green minibus routes

The Transport Department (TD) published a Gazette notice today (January 17) to invite applications for passenger service licences for the operation of three packages ofpublic light bus (scheduled) routes (green minibus routes) covering three routes in total.

The three packages of routes are:

Package 1 (New Territories): Tuen Mun (San Tsing Street) to Lung Yat Estate (Circular)

Package 2 (Kowloon): Choi Wan Estate to Kowloon Bay (Circular)

Package 3 (Kowloon): Between Caritas Medical Centre and Sham Shui Po (Yu Chau Street)

Application documents are available free of charge from the following TD offices and the TD website:

  • The TD New Territories Regional Office, 7/F, Mongkok Government Offices, 30 Luen Wan Street, Mong Kok, Kowloon;
  • The TD Public Light Bus Section, 11/F, South Tower, West Kowloon Government Offices, 11 Hoi Ting Road, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon;
  • The TD Urban Regional Office (Hong Kong), 37/F, Immigration Tower, 7 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong; and
  • The TD Hong Kong Licensing Office, 3/F, United Centre, 95 Queensway, Hong Kong.
  • A spokesman for the TD reminded applicants to refer to the details and requirements of the green minibus routes concerned and the "Guidance Notes for Applicants" attached in the application document. They should also follow the guidelines when completing the application form.

    Completed application forms and relevant supporting documents must be submitted in a plain envelope sealed and marked on the outside of the envelope with "Application for Passenger Service Licence(s) in respect of the Package(s) of Public Light Bus (Scheduled) Route(s) Gazetted in January 2025". They must be placed in the tender box located at the reception counter of the TD Headquarters at 10/F, South Tower, West Kowloon Government Offices, 11 Hoi Ting Road, Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, before noon on March 14, 2025 (Friday). Applications by any other means or late submissions will not be considered.

    London ETO showcases Hong Kong cinema in Copenhagen

    The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London (London ETO) supported the Denmark Asian Cultural Association (DACA) in presenting the "Copenhagen Hong Kong Focus Film Festival", held in Copenhagen, Denmark from January 8 to 10 (Copenhagen time).

    An opening reception was held on January 8, prior to the screening of "Four Trails", marking the launch of the film festival. The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Denmark, Mr Wang Xuefeng, as along with over 50 guests from the local cultural and business sectors.

    The Director-General of the London ETO, Miss Fiona Chau, delivered the opening speech virtually. She congratulated the DACA on bringing the best of Hong Kong cinema to audiences in Copenhagen, and holding the film festival for the second year.

    Miss Chau said, "The opening film 'Four Trails' is a documentary that not only captures the breathtaking beauty of Hong Kong's natural landscape, but also the indomitable spirit of those who dare to challenge it. With Hong Kong's vision of becoming an East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange, the festival showcases the diverse talents of Hong Kong's film industry."

    The three-day film festival featured three Hong Kong films: "Four Trails", "My First of May" and "Last Song for You".
