The Kuwait men's ice hockey team arrived Friday in northeast China's Harbin, the host city of the upcoming 9th Asian Winter Games, and expressed their appreciation and enthusiasm for the warm welcome they received upon arrival.

The team's reception at the airport was a highlight for the players, helping them adjust to the much colder temperatures compared to their home country.

The team has been training for the Games since September, including a winter training session in the UAE. They also received heartfelt hospitality from Chinese organizers and volunteers, which they said made them feel at home.

"We are happy to come here. Honestly, all the athletes are enthusiastic to come to the 9th Asian Winter Games in China and they are happy to be in Harbin. To hosting this competition, we thank everybody who is working and I know there are many people behind the scenes, they work hard. For volunteers, and everybody, I would like to thank them a lot for preparing this competition in China. And also I thank Harbin for this competition and I hope everything is going to be good, because I trust people in China," said Alajmi Meshal, the deputy head of the Kuwait delegation.

The 9th Asian Winter Games will take place in Harbin from Feb 7 to 14. Over 1,270 athletes from 34 countries and regions across Asia will participate, making this edition the largest in terms of participating delegations and athletes.
