The Bayi Aerobatic Team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force took off from an airport in north China Sunday morning for Thailand to join the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries and the 88th anniversary of the establishment of the Royal Thai Air Force.

This is the aerobatic team's second trip to Thailand for a flight show after 10 years, which fully demonstrates the profound friendship between the Chinese and Thai air forces and will further strengthen cultural exchanges and friendly interactions between the two countries and militaries. Back in 2015, it joined in an aerobatic demonstration in Thailand during a joint drill between the Chinese and Thai air forces.

Seven J-10 fighter jets will arrive at the Don Mueang International Airport after flying about 3,600 kilometers. They will present the air force's openness, confidence and pursuit for excellence with wonderful flight performances.

"Every trip abroad is a good opportunity to demonstrate the superb flying skills of our pilots and the excellent performance of our equipment. We will definitely show the good style and demeanor of the Air Force in our best form, and take this as an opportunity to deepen exchanges with air forces of various countries, fulfill our mission of being a messenger of peace, and building a bridge of friendship," said Hu Congjin, a political instructor from the aerobatic team.

This is the 12th time the team has flown abroad since it was established in 1962. It has participated in several international aviation events, including the Moscow International Aviation and Space Salon in 2013, the Dubai Airshow 2017, and the Egypt International Airshow in 2024.

Over 200,000 vehicles from Hong Kong and Macao have registered for permits to drive in Guangdong Province as of Friday, according to statistics from Gongbei Customs in Guangdong's Zhuhai.

On January 1, 2023, a policy known in short as "Macao vehicles going northbound" was officially implemented. After completing the application procedures and obtaining customs clearance approval, car owners from Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) can drive their private cars into Guangdong via the Zhuhai Port on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

The same policy was implemented for car owners in Hong Kong on July 1, 2023, greatly facilitating travel between Guangdong and the SAR.

By the end of 2025, customs had cumulatively supervised over 8.345 million single-license-plate vehicles from Hong Kong and Macao entering and exiting Guangdong through the bridge port.

With another policy allowing Guangdong private cars that have completed the procedures to travel directly to downtown Hong Kong via the bridge implemented on Dec 23, 2025, the bridge port now sees an average of 18,000 vehicles passing through daily, making the vision of a "one-hour living circle" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area a reality.
