China is confident in the development prospects of its relations with Indonesia, and stands ready to work with the Southeast Asian country to demonstrate the regional and global influence of the China-Indonesia community with a shared future, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian at a press briefing in Beijing on Monday.

President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulations with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Sunday over the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

"Yesterday marked the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Indonesia. President Xi Jinping and President Prabowo exchanged congratulatory messages, spoke highly of the development of bilateral relations, and stressed that the two sides will firmly support each other's development vision, jointly advance their respective paths to modernization, and guide the bilateral relations to a new level. We are more confident in the bright prospects for the development of China-Indonesia relations," Lin said.

"China and Indonesia are both major developing countries and important forces in the Global South. Their cooperation has strategic significance and global impact. The more turbulent and complex the international situation, the more prominent of the importance of the all-round strategic cooperation between China and Indonesia," he said.

"China is willing to work with Indonesia to take the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to jointly work to maintain regional development, prosperity and stability, carry out closer cooperation between major countries, cope with global challenges, and uphold the stability and smooth operation of the multilateral trading system and industrial chain and supply chain, to demonstrate the regional and global influence of the China-Indonesia community with a shared future," Lin said.

The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, strengthened 20 pips to 7.0108 against the U.S. dollar Monday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.

In China's spot foreign exchange market, the yuan is allowed to rise or fall by 2 percent from the central parity rate each trading day.

The central parity rate of the yuan against the U.S. dollar is based on a weighted average of prices offered by market makers before the opening of the interbank market each business day.
