A pair of rare corsac foxes was spotted Monday searching for food on a grassland in Ergun, Hulun buir City of north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Corsac foxes rarely move in pairs. The pair videotaped consists of a male and a female. They are likely a new couple.

Corsac fox was listed as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature in 2008. The animal generally measures 50 to 60 centimeters in the body length and weighs about 2 to 3 kilograms, making it the smallest fox species in China.

It mainly inhabits grasslands, deserts and semi-deserts, feeding mainly on rodents.
