Shared business values serve as a key foundation for development cooperation between Russia and China, said Mikhail Goryanoy, chairman of the Council of Russia Entrepreneurs of Northern China, in an interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN) in Moscow on Monday.
Goryanoy said that the Russia-China relationship is rooted in shared values that foster mutual understanding and cooperative goals in business, serving as a prime example of how neighboring countries can collaborate effectively in the business sector.
"You see Russia-China relationship, where there is some sort of a common value base, it is pushing business towards mutual understanding and mutual ways to achieve the same goals. And it's not one against another, it's one with another. And this is a very important foundation that both countries are trying to achieve and push business towards cooperation. You see that in state-run cooperation, private businesses, they're all going aligned with this idea. And it’s a great example for the world, in fact, how two countries, two great countries, two neighboring countries, can interweave business with each other and moving business towards cooperation with each other," he said.
To support the building of a more resilient supply chain, China and Russia have signed in 2023 a Pre-2030 Development Plan on Priorities in China-Russia Economic Cooperation prioritizing key areas such as energy and cross-border logistics.
The pre-2030 development plan, a key initiative issued by China and Russia during Chinese President Xi Jinping's state visit to Russia in March 2023, outlines eight areas of economic cooperation - from institutional arrangements such as financial collaboration and increasing the use of local currency in bilateral trade, to strategic guidance on sector-specific cooperation in fields like energy and agriculture
"So technically the initiative is designed to be supporting business of all kinds, all sizes, all shapes and all directions. And China's market is a huge market. We all know that. Russia has great resources, technology, people, all of it. And the idea behind this is to integrate one with another," Goryanoy explained.
Goryanoy also pointed to emerging cooperation in high-tech sectors, particularly artificial intelligence, as another area of promise - not only for China and Russia, but also for broader collaboration between BRICS countries on AI regulation and market access.
"Maybe countries that do not have as long history of high technology involvement as China or Russia, but it doesn't mean we should exclude them. Integration is the key word and is exactly why all the other BRICS countries are invited and introduced into various programs where they can participate. And the foundation of this groundwork is laid exactly by Russia and China as an example of two countries cooperating on so many various levels," he said.
