German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced on Saturday during a visit to Kiev that his government will no longer disclose details of future military aid to Ukraine.
In a press interview, Merz stated that under his leadership, discussions about arms deliveries, calibers, weapons systems and so on will be kept out of the public eye.
Earlier, the German newspaper Tagesspiegel reported, citing government sources, that communication about weapons deliveries would be "significantly reduced" to prevent Russia from gaining a military advantage.
In addition, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters that the move was intended to achieve "strategic ambiguity" and prevent Russia from gaining a strategic edge.
