SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 2025--

Josh Bashioum, Founder and CEO of Early Warning Labs, participated in a high-level panel discussion hosted by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and ARISE, focused on advancing access to early warning systems across the Americas and Caribbean. The event, part of Semana de la Sostenibilidad 2025, took place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cortés in San Pedro Sula.

The session, titled “Early Warning for All: Protección para Todos,” addressed the growing urgency for multi-hazard early warning systems as tools to protect lives, safeguard business continuity, and enable effective coordination between public and private sectors. Moderated by Emma Hansen, Early Warning Systems Specialist for the Caribbean at UNDRR, the panel also featured Melissa Pierre of AMCHAM Trinidad & Tobago.

Bashioum emphasized Early Warning Labs’ leadership in commercial earthquake early warning technology. The company is a licensed integrator of the U.S. Geological Survey’s ShakeAlert® system and has developed scalable early warning and automation solutions for critical infrastructure and enterprise use. Early Warning Labs’ deployments include Los Angeles County Fire Stations, Los Angeles City Hall, the Port of Los Angeles, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles City Schools, and other high-profile institutions.

“Our systems are already protecting millions of people in the United States,” said Bashioum. “This isn’t theoretical. We’re delivering real-time earthquake alerts with automated facility response—helping public agencies and private organizations take action before shaking begins.”

As seismic risk intensifies across the hemisphere, Early Warning Labs continues to support the international effort to make early warning access universal. Through its partnerships and technology platform, the company is helping governments, hospitals, transit systems, and businesses improve safety outcomes and operational resilience.

With a proven track record across both public and private sectors, Early Warning Labs invites organizations to learn more about how early warning can be integrated into their risk management strategy.
