China opposes any acts endangering the safety of diplomats, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said at a press briefing in Beijing on Thursday.

Mao said China is highly concerned about the incident that Israeli soldiers fired "warning shots" at a diplomatic delegation near a refugee camp in the West Bank.

"China firmly opposes any act that threatens the safety of diplomatic personnel. We demand the launch of a full investigation so that similar incidents do not happen again. For some time, the situation in the West Bank has remained tense. China urges relevant parties, especially Israel, not to take any actions that could lead to further escalation," Mao said.

In China's spot foreign exchange market, the yuan is allowed to rise or fall by 2 percent from the central parity rate each trading day.

The central parity rate of the yuan against the U.S. dollar is based on a weighted average of prices offered by market makers before the opening of the interbank market each business day.
