A digital and smart manufacturing section of the China-CEEC Expo is making debut and wowing visitors with the cutting-edge technologies from China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEECs) at the 4th edition of the event in Ningbo City of east China's Zhejiang Province.
The event, also the International Consumer Goods Fair, is scheduled to run from Thursday to Sunday and has attracted 435 enterprises from 14 CEECs and nine other countries, including the UK, France, Germany and Italy, showcasing over 8,000 featured products.
From a touchable "magical wall" from Hungary to a lifelike humanoid robot developed by a prominent local company, many of these technologies, such as the robot dog, have drawn significant attention from both domestic and international visitors and even sparked a wave of laughters.
Rokid, a product-oriented platform company dedicated to human-computer interaction, is showcasing its latest AI glasses and AR spatial glasses. Many foreign exhibitors and visitors have shown strong interest in their potential applications and are open to future cooperation.
"By now, exhibitors from several countries, including Poland, Slovenia and Serbia, have shown strong willingness to become our partners to expand the Central and Eastern European market," said Irene Long, global operations director of Rokid.
Nisus Aero, a Slovakian manufacturer of high-performance gyroplanes and hang-gliders, is showcasing its eVTOL model, also known as a flying taxi.
"A lot of companies are interested in our eVTOL model, and we're now waiting for another one for talks. We are also hoping to find partners to produce the model in China," said Jindrich Zahumensky, CEO and founder of the company.
Some exhibitors are eying the potential of China's fast-developing AI sector, such as ABYA Genomics, a Slovakian company dedicated to revolutionizing personalized medicine through AI genomic analysis and gene therapy discovery.
"China is great for AI talent, physical talent, academia, and that's why our main goal is to connect with Chinese academia and schools. Another thing is to find Chinese investors, which can help us scale the start-ups in this market," said Tim Szalay, CEO and founder of the company.
Since the China-CEEC cooperation mechanism was initiated in 2012, trade between China and Central and Eastern European countries has maintained an average annual growth rate of 8.8 percent. In 2024, China's trade with CEECs increased by 6.3 percent year on year, reaching a record high of 142.3 billion U.S. dollars, according to the data from China's commerce ministry.
