Adventure tourism is reaching new heights at Qixing Mountain in Zhangjiajie City, central China's Hunan Province, as travelers from home and abroad flock to experience its heart-pounding cliffside attractions ahead of the upcoming Duanwu Festival holiday.

The mountain's star attraction, the "Cliffside Via Ferrata," stretches 1,500 meters along near-vertical rock faces with a breathtaking 1,480-meter elevation drop. Fully harnessed visitors scale the cliffs while taking in panoramic views of the surrounding karst landscape.

"I came here today to get this experience. And this is an amazing place and I'm really having a good time," said a tourist named Moran Avigdor.

Other daredevil draws include the mountain's glass observation platform and transparent walkways suspended over sheer drops. These attractions have become must-visit destinations for international visitors looking to combine scenic appreciation with adrenaline rushes.

The site has seen a notable shift in its visitor demographics. Since late May, Qixing Mountain has welcomed over 3,000 daily visitors, with international tourists accounting for 21.8 percent, signaling a broader industry trend where foreign travelers are moving beyond traditional sightseeing to seek immersive, experiential adventures.
