The China Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka hosted a China Film Day event on Sunday, drawing over 100 attendees, including representatives from the Chinese and Japanese film industries as well as officials from other Expo pavilions.

During the event, members of the Chinese film delegation shared their filmmaking experiences, and talked about the industrialization of Chinese film production and the promotion of traditional Chinese culture.

They also introduced the latest advancements in China's film industry.

Deng Guanghui, executive vice chairman of the China Film Association, said the event reflected the implementation of the China-Japan High-Level People-to-People Exchange Mechanism. He highlighted that recent Chinese films, with their unique Eastern aesthetics and modern narratives, have showcased the cultural depth and contemporary charm of China to global audiences.

Xue Jian, Chinese Consul General in Osaka, emphasized the irreplaceable role of cinema as a cultural bridge, noting the rising popularity of Chinese films and TV shows in Japan and the growing momentum of bilateral film exchanges.

Wu Shengrong, director of the China Pavilion, said the event presented high-quality films that embody Chinese culture, values, and the spirit of the times. It also highlighted China's recent achievements in film artistry, technological innovation, and industry development.
