A spectacular fireworks display and drone light show featuring the Dragon Boat Festival were staged in Rudong County of east China's Jiangsu Province on Saturday to mark the traditional Chinese festival, wowing visitors with magnificent scenes.

The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday to commemorate ancient Chinese poet Qu Yuan from the Warring States Period (475-221 B.C.). Celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, the festival falls on May 31 this year.

During the fireworks display and drone light show, the crowds of visitors were intrigued by the stunning views when the Dragon Boat Festival-inspired sparks ignited the night sky.

Nearly 100,000 colorful fireworks were launched, soaring into the sky and bursting in vibrant displays that illuminated the night sky.

Adding to the spectacle, over 1,000 synchronised drones were deployed into the night sky to form illuminated images.
