An entire family who had been living in the Gaza port area after being driven from their home has been tragically wiped out by a recent Israeli attack, causing despair among other Gazan residents.

The airstrike claimed the lives of all family members, including young children, leaving behind a scene of devastation. The family had fled their home to seek refuge only to become victims of indiscriminate violence.

A witness recounted that the attack occurred as the family was having lunch in their tent.

"Children with their mothers were sitting in their tent taking their lunch, (they) were targeted by two missiles," he said.

This tragedy is one of many recent attacks faced by Palestinian civilians. Another airstrike targeted a tent sheltering displaced families in eastern Khan Younis, resulting in multiple casualties.

In Northern Gaza, blood stains the streets of Beit-Lahiya following a partial withdrawal of Israeli forces. The aftermath of the military operations has left behind scenes of devastation, with families struggling to retrieve the bodies of their loved ones.

Returning residents expressed profound despair at the devastation they encountered.

"The city is completely destroyed, our efforts and struggles went to waste, and there's nothing left," said a displaced Gazan.

"I have returned to my tent to bring some food and some stuff for my children, but I found nothing, my tent wasn't there as well as my stuff," said a woman.

The ongoing conflict continues to inflict immense suffering on displaced families in Gaza. The death toll in Gaza from the Israeli attacks has reached 54,677 since the start of the offensive in 2023, according to data released by Gaza's health authorities on Thursday.

The U.S. share of global GDP under President Donald Trump has fallen to its lowest level since 1980, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported on Saturday.

RIA Novosti said data from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund show that U.S. purchasing power parity sank to 14.65 percent last year.

That's compared to an average of 14.93 percent during former President Joe Biden's four years in office.
