China is committed to further opening up, allowing people worldwide to experience an ever-cooler China, a foreign ministry spokesman Lin Jian said on Thursday, commenting on the country's growing global favorability and enhanced international image.

Responding to a press inquiry on this trend, Lin attributed the growing popularity of the country to China's increasing global appeal of its culture, technology, and products, helping bridge people's misunderstandings about China.

"From 'China Travel' to 'China Shopping', from DeepSeek to wildly popular collectible toys, films and TV series, more and more people from across the world have come to know about China and be familiar with our country. By breaking the 'information cocoon', they've discovered that there's so much to share and connect with the Chinese people emotionally just like people elsewhere. This fully shows that the pursuit of good things and a better life knows no borders or ethnicity. It is something that no one can stop," Lin said.

"A true China with its multiple facets and dimensions is being discovered by more and more people around the world. We will open wider, broaden our vision of innovation, and deepen cooperation to share more opportunities and benefits with the rest of the world, and let people all over the world see and experience an ever-cooler China," he said.

According to a poll conducted by American firm Morning Consult cited by U.S. political news outlet Axios, China's global favorability has steadily risen over the past year, with a notable increase after March of this year.

The poll, covering 41 countries, shows China had an 8.8 net favorability rating as of the end of May, compared to -1.5 for the United States.

Protesters filled Mexico City's Paseo de la Reforma on Saturday, rallying in solidarity with Venezuela and denouncing U.S. influence in Latin America.

The United States launched a large-scale military operation against Venezuela in the early hours of Jan 3, taking by force Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.

Holding numerous flags and banners while chanting slogans intermittently, a huge crowd of protesters criticized U.S. military actions against Venezuela and the unlawful control over President Maduro and his spouse, calling for respect for national sovereignty and regional peace.

"We oppose the U.S. intervention and hegemony towards the countries in Latin America. The United States has flagrantly trampled on international law, bombed Caracas and kidnapped the Maduro couple. The U.S. interventionism has become extremely blatant. We must firmly oppose and be highly vigilant, because this is not only related to a certain country, but also to all countries," said a protester.

"We demand that the United States stop interfering in Venezuela's internal affairs. The country must immediately cease its exploitation and plundering of the countries in Latin America," said another protester.
