Iran's Foreign Ministry issued a statement Friday strongly condemning Israeli attacks on Iranian territory, describing them as blatant acts of aggression in violation of the United Nations (UN) Charter.
Early that day, Israel launched a preemptive strike targeting Iran's nuclear facilities, senior military leaders, and research scientists, a significant escalation against Tehran.
In response, Iran asserted its legitimate right to retaliate, vowing unwavering defense by its armed forces, according to the statement.
The statement urged the UN, along with regional and Islamic countries, to swiftly condemn the attacks and take unified, decisive actions against Israel's adventurism.
The ministry added that the aggression was only possible with coordination and approval from the United States, asserting that the U.S. government must be held accountable.
In an interview with state-run IRIB TV, Iranian Armed Forces spokesman Abolfazl Shekarchi warned that Israel would face severe consequences for its actions. He emphasized the readiness of Iran's armed forces and vowed a harsh response.
In a Friday statement, the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces reported that Israel's attack on military and civilian areas caused casualties among women, children, and military personnel.
The General Staff denounced the aggression as a clear violation of international norms and pledged a "crushing response" that would make those responsible, including its planners, executors, and supporters, deeply regret their actions.
