The G7 should recognize the trend of the world and stop manipulating China-related issues, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said at a press briefing in Beijing on Friday.

Lin made the remarks in response to a media query about the G7 Leaders' Summit, scheduled to take place in Canada from June 15 to 17.

"The G7 has always upheld a Cold War mentality and ideological bias, forming exclusionary blocs, stoking conflict and antagonism and bloc confrontation. Such doings go against the trend of the times, are unpopular and doomed to fail. We advice the G7 to recognize the trend of the world and cease interfering in other countries' internal affairs, stop undermining others' development, and manipulating China-related issues. Instead, it should do more things that are conducive to the solidarity and cooperation of the international community," Lin said.

China's 42nd Antarctic scientific expedition are now in full swing around Zhongshan Station, a Chinese research base in Antarctica.

The expedition team arrived at the region aboard China's icebreakers, Xuelong and Xuelong 2, which also handled supply transportation for the mission.

The two icebreakers have delivered approximately 2,000 tons of supplies to Zhongshan Station to support scientific exploration.

The 42nd Antarctic expedition will span 19 months, aiming to advance major scientific research and international collaboration in polar conditions.

The expedition team set sail from Shanghai on Nov 1, with the mission expected to conclude in May 2026 when both icebreakers return to China.
