The sixth Qingdao Multinationals Summit (QMS) opened Thursday in east China's coastal city of Shandong Province, which is themed on "Multinationals and China: Connecting the World for Win-Win Cooperation."

The event has attracted 465 multinational companies, including 135 from the Fortune Global 500 and 330 industry leaders. Participating enterprises are from 43 countries and regions, gaining the weight of the summit.

Among the 417 representatives from overseas multinationals are those from Switzerland's Glencore, Japan's Mizuho, and South Korea's CJ Group.

"To address the concerns of multinational companies, we have arranged 22 key sessions including the Opening Ceremony and Multinationals High-Quality Development Forum, 'Invest in China' Exchange and Cooperation Conference Shandong Session and various matchmaking activities," said Cai Peian, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the summit.

Running from Wednesday through Friday, the summit features closed-door meetings on policies and forums on silver economy, general aviation and low-altitude economy.

This year's summit also includes tailored business matchmaking sessions to support multinationals in accessing supply chain, innovation, and market resources.

The coast guard of east China's Fujian Province on Tuesday continued to organize law enforcement patrol in the waters off the Taiwan Island.

Zhu Anqing, spokesperson of China Coast Guard's East Sea Bureau, said the patrol focused on drills such as verification and identification, warning and expulsion, as well as visit, board, search and seizure, which tested the forces' regional control capabilities.
