The Chinese Embassy in Jordan has activated emergency consular mechanisms to facilitate the safe passage of Chinese citizens evacuating from Israel amid escalating regional tensions, embassy officials confirmed Wednesday.

With three land crossings between Israel and Jordan currently operating normally, dozens of Chinese nationals had already transited through these border points as of Wednesday, some having subsequently returned to China.

The evacuation route through Jordan has become critical as the conflict between Israel and Iran intensifies regional instability.

"The embassy has formally notified Jordan's Foreign Ministry and Public Security Directorate, and maintained close communication and coordination with the Jordanian side. We have asked Jordanian authorities to provide assistance, facilitate the evacuation of Chinese nationals and ensure their safety. The Jordanian side has attached great importance to this matter and pledged necessary support," said Gong Anmin, Chargé d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Jordan.

The embassy maintains round-the-clock communication with relevant authorities and neighboring diplomatic missions to coordinate the ongoing evacuation. Additional contingency plans are being implemented to ensure orderly departures for remaining Chinese citizens, with embassy staff providing full consular support throughout the process.
