Industry-first facility showcases deep system integration and mission-driven investment in sustainable heating solutions

BEIJING, June 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- SolarEast Heat Pump Ltd., a publicly listed Chinese manufacturer specializing in R290 air-to-water heat pumps, has officially launched its groundbreaking RMB 120 million (approximately $17 million) Zero-Carbon Laboratory complex. Spanning 32,000 square meters and featuring 30 advanced testing labs, the facility sets a new global benchmark for heat pump validation, system integration, and clean energy deployment.

The investment reflects SolarEast's long-term commitment to its mission: "Green Mission • Better Life." Unlike many manufacturers transitioning from OEM assembly to branding, SolarEast has taken the more difficult route — to become a full-stack R290 system creator from day one. This new facility is both a product of that belief and a strategic asset to transform the future of sustainable heating.

30 Labs Built for System-Level Testing

Designed as one of the most advanced private heat pump R&D facilities globally, the complex features:

  • A 1,200kW ultra-low temperature lab testing down to -60°C
  • Long-duration reliability chambers for residential and commercial units
  • Climate simulation labs mimicking Europe, Asia, and North America
  • Semi-anechoic chambers for precision acoustic testing

"Our customers aren't just buying components — they're buying system stability," said Mr. YIN YALING, Chief Technology Officer at SolarEast. "By synchronizing the testing of our self-made evaporators, condensers, PCB control boards, and copper piping, we can optimize every interaction within the heat pump. That's what makes our R290 units truly field-ready."

Living Showcase of Renewable System Integration

The Zero-Carbon Lab is also a full-scale demonstration of how decentralized energy can work in the real world. It includes:

  • 1.17MWp of building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV)
  • 800kW/1720kWh lithium battery storage
  • Combined ground-source and air-source heat pump systems
  • A 1000m³ thermal stratified tank for heat/cool storage

This design supports a fully operational clean energy campus, aligning directly with SolarEast's brand promise to deliver not just products, but proven sustainable systems.

Designed for Global Partners Seeking Performance + Reliability

The investment comes at a time of global heat pump acceleration, particularly in Europe, where cold-climate performance and R290 refrigerants are key procurement drivers. Industry analysts expect the global heat pump market to surpass $200 billion by 2030.

"OEM partners, installers, and contractors need more than datasheets — they need evidence," said Mr. JIAO QINGTAI, Director of International Sales. "This lab gives them validated assurance, faster project approvals, and fewer post-installation surprises."

A Brand Rooted in Mission, Proven by Action

Founded in 2012, SolarEast now manufactures over 85% of its key components in-house, including evaporators, condensers, PCB control boards, and copper piping. The Zero-Carbon Lab is not just infrastructure — it's the physical embodiment of SolarEast's belief that real sustainability begins at the system level.

"We didn't build this to impress," said Mr. XU XINJIAN, CEO of SolarEast. "We built it because every product we ship must reflect our mission — Green Mission • Better Life. That means cleaner winters, quieter nights, and more trust between us and every partner who installs our heat pumps."

SolarEast Launches $17M Zero-Carbon Lab to Lead Global R290 Heat Pump Innovation

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam, Jan. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital travel platform Agoda reveals that Vietnam is becoming an increasingly popular year-end travel choice for families in the region and beyond. Based on searches made between September and November 2025 for stays during December 2025 and January 2026, Agoda recorded a 30% increase in family travel interest to Vietnam compared with the same period the previous year.

Agoda data shows that Vietnam is attracting more international families than ever this winter holiday season. South Koreans take the lead as the top market interested in traveling to Vietnam in December and January, with families from India, Singapore, Australia, and Malaysia rounding out the top five. Notably, Agoda reported that Indian families showcased the highest growth in travel interest to Vietnam during this period, with a 186% increase in searches. Malaysians also, are expressing strong growth in interest, with a 74% increase in searches, highlighting Vietnam's appeal as a family destination in Southeast Asia and beyond.

Families are choosing Vietnam for its storied culture and cuisine, diverse landscapes, and abundance of family-friendly resorts and attractions.

Phu Quoc Island leads as the most sought-after destination among international family travelers with a 47% increase in searches, popular for its sandy beaches, calm waters, and nature parks ideal for multi-generation vacations. Da Nang follows with 42% growth in travel interest, noted for its beaches, soft adventure activities, and access to Ba Na Hills theme park. Nha Trang comes in third place, remaining a favorite for its long coastline, family-oriented resorts, and island experiences. In fourth place, Ho Chi Minh City appeals with its vibrant food scene, entertainment complexes, and day trips to the Mekong Delta. In the north, Hanoi continues to draw families with its cultural landmarks, museums, and festive atmosphere, rounding out the top five most family-friendly year-end destinations in Vietnam.

Meanwhile, although Vietnamese families traditionally travel less internationally at the end of the year – typically preferring to wait for the Lunar New Year - China is becoming a noticeable exception. Among the top 20 outbound destinations preferred by Vietnamese families during the December-January period, searches for Shanghai increased 58%, while Beijing increased 59%. This shift is supported by the launch of new direct routes between Hanoi and selected Chinese cities earlier this year, making end-of-year overseas trips more accessible than ever.

Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director at Agoda, said: "It is wonderful to see Vietnam increasingly chosen as an end-of-year holiday destination for families from across Asia and beyond. Agoda's data shows that travelers are recognizing Vietnam's family-friendly appeal, which further strengthen its position on the global travel map. As more families plan their festive-season or year-end getaways, we are delighted to support them through Agoda's simple, intuitive platform and our wide range of stays, flights, and activities."

With over 6 million properties, 130,000 flight routes, and 300,000 activities, all bookable in one seamless itinerary, Agoda helps families plan memorable year-end holidays, whether they choose a peaceful beach break, a cultural city escape, or an international exploration to mark the close of the year.
