Algerian Minister Noureddine Ouadah has commended Chinese Premier Li Qiang's remarks at the Summer Davos Forum in Tianjin, emphasizing China's dedication to fostering collaboration and inclusivity amid global challenges.
Li delivered a keynote address on Wednesday at the opening ceremony of the 16th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum (WEF), also known as the Summer Davos Forum. His speech reinforced China's pivotal role in addressing critical global issues.
In an interview with China Global Television Network (CGTN), Ouadah, who is Algeria's Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-enterprises, highlighted how China's economic strategies serve as a model for driving innovation and resilience in emerging markets.
"The Chinese economy is one of the locomotives for the world's economic progress. And it's really open for collaboration, win-win collaboration, with everyone in the world. This is a very strong signal of openness, but also a strong signal to be a responsible economy, which can contribute to the wellness of people in China, but also all over the world," said the minister.
Ouadah stressed the importance of mutual respect and cooperation in addressing global challenges.
"China is able to deal with any country, even if it is small, with respect. And to bring wealth everywhere in the world, we need everyone, we need big countries, we need small economies, we need the diversity. So all of this mix coming together and working together, with win-win, and with respect especially, this will help the world to face these crucial challenges," he said.
Additionally, the minister noted the growing significance of Global South countries in international affairs.
"At the same time, the Global South today can play a bigger role in order to bring new voice, especially in the international institutions, like the UN. So the revision of the UN Security Council composition involving more countries from the Global South will give more stability to this institution and make their decisions more credible," he said.
