Shenzhen City in south China's Guangdong Province launched two new tax refund services at the Futian Port and the Shenzhen Bay Port on Friday, bringing the total to five and providing greater convenience for outbound overseas tourists.
At the tax refund counter of Shenzhen Bay Port, the first traveler completed the entire process in just five minutes, from submitting documents to receiving the refund.
"It was the staff member who guided us then. I think it was quite convenient," said Mr. Chan from Hong Kong.
Data shows that from January to May this year, the tax refund business in Shenzhen continued to grow, and the tax refund structure was continuously optimized. The number of tax refund stores increased by about 25 percent compared with the beginning of this year.
"Since the beginning of this year, Shenzhen has been making efforts to build a full-chain outbound tax refund management system. The business districts that offer the instant tax refund service have fully covered the relevant areas of the outbound tax refund ports in Shenzhen," said Yang Jiangtao, deputy director of Shenzhen Municipal Finance Bureau.
