Investment in China's logistics sector grew steadily in June, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing said on Wednesday.

The index of completed fixed asset investment continued to rise, and business activities remained in a relatively high expansion range.

In June, the index of completed fixed asset investment was 54.5 percent, up 0.3 percentage points from the previous month.

Since February, the index of completed fixed asset investment has maintained a month-on-month upward trend.

In June, industries maintained an upward trend except for the warehousing industry. The construction of key projects in transportation and logistics hubs advanced in an orderly manner. The fixed asset investment completion index of water transportation, air transportation and postal and express delivery industries rose by 0.5, 0.4 and 0.3 percentage points, respectively.

"The sectors able to effectively improve the operational efficiency of logistics facilities registered better investment completion. This provides a good support for the future logistics operation in the whole industry and helps us effectively reduce the logistics costs for the entire society," said Liu Yuhang, director of China Logistics Information Center.

Looking at the later trend, the business activity expectation index has remained above 55 percent for four consecutive months in a relatively high expansion range. The business activity expectation indexes for railway transportation, air transportation and postal express delivery reach 55.3 percent, 58.7 percent and 57.4 percent, respectively.
