The latest round of high-level dialogue between China and Germany has sent a positive signal for the steady and pragmatic development of bilateral relations and global stability, according to Wang Le, researcher at the Center for European Studies at East China Normal University.
Speaking in an interview to China Global Television Network, Wang noted that both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining stable and pragmatic relations during the dialogue.
In her view, the dialogue demonstrated the willingness of both countries to enhance coordination and jointly address challenges, with the institutionalized dialogue mechanism serving as channel for deepening trust.
"The major takeaways from this round of dialogue is that both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining stable and pragmatic relations. Both sides discussed a wide range of issues including bilateral trade, investment cooperation, global security, climate change and regional conflicts. Importantly, they emphasized the need for mutual respect, open dialogue, and continued economic cooperation," said Wang.
"This mechanism is highly significant because it provides a high level institutional platform for both countries to coordinate their policies, manage differences, and explore common ground on global challenges. So this dialogue helps stabilize not only bilateral ties, but also contributes to regional stability and global economic recovery. It also signals that despite differences on some political issues, China and Germany remain commitment to constructive engagement and practical cooperation," she said.
The researcher further emphasized the far-reaching significance of China-Germany cooperation for the global economy, noting that the partnership has the potential to inject new vitality into global development.
"China-Germany cooperation stresses confidence within multilateral trade, drives innovation and contributes to a more balanced and open global economic landscape. Because the two of the world's largest economies, their joint support for multilateralism and freight trade helps uphold the global trading system, especially at a time when protectionism and geopolitical tensions are rising. And secondly, their cooperation can accelerate global industrial upgrading and green transition by combining Germany's technological strengths well with China's market scale and production capacity. This is crucial for areas like renewable energy, electronic vehicles and smart manufacturing. And lastly we say by promoting open development and inclusive growth, their partnership can set an example for other countries to engage with a win-win cooperation rather than confrontation and supporting global economic recovery and long term stability," Wang said.
