Over 90 percent of respondents praised the BRICS cooperation mechanism as a critical force in promoting multipolarity, shared development, equality, and global order, according to a poll released by China Global Television Network (CGTN)
The poll results indicate that 91.2 percent of respondents believe the BRICS cooperation mechanism promotes the realization of a multipolar world with equality and order, as well as inclusive and shared economic globalization.
In the survey, 89.1 percent praised the BRICS mechanism for providing valuable practical experience in promoting world economic development and building a fairer, more inclusive global governance system.
A total of 94.7 percent of respondents believe that the BRICS cooperation mechanism has not only reduced the dependence of member countries on the U.S. dollar but also enhanced their voice in global financial governance.
BRICS, the vital group connecting Global South countries, was established in 2009. It has continued to expand beyond its five founding members, with six new members admitted alongside ten partner countries participating with observer status. In response to the trend, the survey yielded high positivity, with 88.9 percent of respondents believing that the influence of the BRICS is continuously expanding.
The survey was released on CGTN's English, Spanish, French, Arabic, and Russian platforms ahead of the 2025 BRICS in Brazil, with 6,541 global netizens participating in the survey and sharing their opinions within 24 hours.
The 17th BRICS Summit is being held Sunday and Monday in Rio de Janeiro. As the rotating chair of the bloc, Brazil is hosting the summit under the banner of "Strengthening Global South Cooperation for More Inclusive and Sustainable Governance".
