Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed developing the real economy and making solid efforts to strengthen the nation and achieve prosperity during his inspection of a valve manufacturing company in Yangquan City, north China's Shanxi Province, on Monday afternoon.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made an inspection tour of the cities of Yangquan and Taiyuan in the province on Monday and Tuesday.
When visiting the valve manufacturing company, he learned about the province's efforts to promote the transformation and upgrade of industries in recent years.
Xi inspected the company's production workshop, and learned about the production and sales.
Noting that traditional manufacturing is an integral part of the real economy, he stressed efforts to meet market demand, and enhance scientific and technological innovation, so as to reinvigorate traditional industries.
China's industrial development today relies on advanced technologies and equipment, Xi said.
Promoting real economy can develop a country, and solid work makes it flourish, he stressed.
