More than 350 people have been safely relocated after flash floods swept through Gyirong County in southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region on Tuesday, according to local authorities.
The flash floods struck the Gyirong Port area along the China-Nepal border at 5:46 a.m. Tuesday.
Rescue operations are underway in full swing. Authorities in Xizang swiftly deployed more than 320 rescue personnel and mobilized 52 rescue vehicles and five unmanned aerial vehicles for the rescue efforts.
Rescue workers are working to reopen the vital route to Gyirong Port.
Based on the current situation of flooding, the flood control and drought relief headquarters in Xizang initiated level-four emergency responses for flood control and natural-disaster relief.
