China's express delivery volume surpassed 100 billion parcels by Wednesday, demonstrating sustained growth in both the industry and consumer market in the country.

China reaches this volume again 35 days earlier than in 2024, according to the State Post Bureau, marking the fifth consecutive year that it has exceeded 100 billion parcels.

The sector now owns over 400 logistics parks, nearly 3,000 distribution centers, and 413,000 service outlets, establishing a nationwide delivery network enhanced by high-speed railway, highways, and airports.

Currently, logistics infrastructure also extends into remote and rural areas. There are over 1,200 county-level public delivery service centers and over 300,000 village logistics stations across China, forming a robust rural delivery system that fuels new growth.

"The faster surpassing 100 billion parcels this year highlights the continuous expansion of China's consumer market, driving rapid growth in express delivery volume. Leveraging convergence of information flow, capital flow, and physical goods flow, the postal and express industry enables efficient circulation of all factors across production, distribution, circulation, and consumption," said Liu Jiang, director of the department for strategic planning and studies of the Development and Research Center under the State Post Bureau.

Protesters filled Mexico City's Paseo de la Reforma on Saturday, rallying in solidarity with Venezuela and denouncing U.S. influence in Latin America.

The United States launched a large-scale military operation against Venezuela in the early hours of Jan 3, taking by force Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.

Holding numerous flags and banners while chanting slogans intermittently, a huge crowd of protesters criticized U.S. military actions against Venezuela and the unlawful control over President Maduro and his spouse, calling for respect for national sovereignty and regional peace.

"We oppose the U.S. intervention and hegemony towards the countries in Latin America. The United States has flagrantly trampled on international law, bombed Caracas and kidnapped the Maduro couple. The U.S. interventionism has become extremely blatant. We must firmly oppose and be highly vigilant, because this is not only related to a certain country, but also to all countries," said a protester.

"We demand that the United States stop interfering in Venezuela's internal affairs. The country must immediately cease its exploitation and plundering of the countries in Latin America," said another protester.
