The Global Supply Chain Expo has arrived at a pivotal and exciting moment as supply chains quickly become a top priority among the world's businesses due to factors such as emergent technologies and tariffs, said Hemione Hudson, Chair and CEO of PwC China.

Ongoing from July 16-20, the third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) showcases exhibitions across six key sectors -- advanced manufacturing, clean energy, smart vehicle, digital technology, healthy life, and green agriculture, along with an area for supply chain service.

As the world's first national-level expo themed around supply chains, CISCE functions as a global public good shared globally.

At the welcome banquet, Hudson emphasized the timeliness of the event in light of a shifting global landscape.

"I think supply chains have never been more at the center of everything that people are thinking about as they need to get re-imagined because of technology changes, because of tariffs, because of a number of different things. And this is the first global supply chain expo. So yeah, (it's) a very exciting event," she said.

Over 230 new Chinese and international partners are participating for the first time, showcasing more than 100 debut products, technologies, and exhibits, a 10 percent increase compared to the previous session.

"I think that the Chinese supply chain is very important to the global economy. It's why there are so many companies here for this Expo. I think part of what this is about building resilience into the supply chains. And part of why people want to come together is actually to collaborate and figure out how we build resilience into it. PwC have chosen to be involved in the advanced manufacturing area. And in advanced manufacturing, I think there are some industries in where China is really leading and leading in the supply chain. So EV's have obviously been an area of success for China. And we're involved in the low altitude economy and ecosystem, which we see as being another area where I think China can play a very strong part," said Hudson.

Under the theme "Connecting the World for a Shared Future", the event has gathered 651 enterprises and institutions from 75 countries, regions, and international organizations, with overseas exhibitors making up 35 percent of the total.

Protesters filled Mexico City's Paseo de la Reforma on Saturday, rallying in solidarity with Venezuela and denouncing U.S. influence in Latin America.

The United States launched a large-scale military operation against Venezuela in the early hours of Jan 3, taking by force Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores.

Holding numerous flags and banners while chanting slogans intermittently, a huge crowd of protesters criticized U.S. military actions against Venezuela and the unlawful control over President Maduro and his spouse, calling for respect for national sovereignty and regional peace.

"We oppose the U.S. intervention and hegemony towards the countries in Latin America. The United States has flagrantly trampled on international law, bombed Caracas and kidnapped the Maduro couple. The U.S. interventionism has become extremely blatant. We must firmly oppose and be highly vigilant, because this is not only related to a certain country, but also to all countries," said a protester.

"We demand that the United States stop interfering in Venezuela's internal affairs. The country must immediately cease its exploitation and plundering of the countries in Latin America," said another protester.
