China Media Group (CMG) held its first-ever China Micro-Drama Gala in Yantai City, east China's Shandong Province, on Wednesday, to promote the high-quality development and industry upgrade of micro-dramas.

The event, organized by CMG's Yangshipin platform, the Film, TV and Documentary Center, CMG's Shandong Bureau, and the Yantai Municipal Government, aims to boost the micro-drama industry through innovation, content elevation, and nationwide collaboration.

The gala featured close cooperation with members of the "China Premium Micro-Drama Industry and Full-Screen Matrix Alliance" and officially launched the "China Premium Micro-Drama Showcase Program" to promote and screen outstanding short-form drama content.

Hundreds of industry professionals, ranging from directors and screenwriters to leading actors and producers, gathered in Yantai for the event, which highlighted more than 10 major award categories, including "Micro-Dramas of the Year" and "Actors of the Year."

Among the winning titles for "Micro-Dramas of the Year" were Contenders and My Sweet Home. Awarded as "Micro-Drama Actresses of the Year" were Carman Lee Yeuk-tung from Hong Kong, Xu Yizhen and Sun Yiran, while Hou Jingjian and Wei Zi were honored as "Micro-Drama Actors of the Year."

A recorded broadcast of the event will be released soon across CMG's new media platforms, including Yangshipin.

The Republic of Korea (ROK) and China should cherish the historical experience of jointly resisting aggression and continue to work together for a prosperous future, said ROK President Lee Jae Myung.

At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Lee will pay a state visit to China from Jan 4 to 7. It will be Lee's first visit to China since he took office last year.

In an interview with China Media Group (CMG) in Seoul on Wednesday, Lee said that humanity must learn from the past to prevent the tragedy of war from repeating itself.

"While pursuing their own national interests to the fullest extent, countries must not harm the national interests of others, but should coexist peacefully. The act of invading other countries and massacring their people for one's own benefit must never be repeated. History of humanity often repeats itself, therefore we must learn from the past. In this regard, I believe the historical experience of ROK and China in resisting aggression and fighting together is invaluable. Of course, while historical experience is important, we cannot remain stuck in the past. For a better future for the people of both countries, we need to continuously explore possibilities for working together towards the future," said the president.
