Russia said on Tuesday its forces took control of another settlement in the Donetsk Region, while Ukraine, on the same day, reported 176 clashes along the frontlines.
Russia's Ministry of Defense said in its latest briefing that its forces had seized a residential area in the Donetsk region over the past 24 hours, and destroyed ten Ukrainian electronic warfare stations and 13 ammunition depots.
The ministry also reported that Russian troops used a variety of weapons, including the Kinzhal hypersonic missile, to strike multiple Ukrainian military-industrial facilities.
On the same day, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said in its battlefield updates that 176 clashes had occurred along the frontlines in the past 24 hours.
Ukrainian forces targeted concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons, military equipment, and missile artillery units, and continued to engage Russian troops in the northern Slobozhansky and Kursk directions, the Ukrainian side said.
Also on Tuesday, both sides reported downing a significant number of each other's drones over the past day, with Russian air defense units destroying two Neptune long-range missiles and 259 fixed-wing drones from Ukraine and Ukraine claiming to have downed 256 Russian tactical drones and 18 missiles.
Meanwhile, multiple Russian media outlets reported on Monday, citing informed sources, that Russia and Ukraine are set to hold a third round of direct negotiations, which are scheduled to take place on Thursday in Istanbul, Türkiye, with both delegations expected to arrive in the city on Wednesday.
According to reports, the Ukrainian delegation will be led by Rustem Umerov, secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council.
On Monday evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video address on social media that he had discussed the upcoming negotiations with Umerov earlier that day.
Umerov confirmed that the talks with the Russian side were planned for Wednesday in Türkiye.
