The Rain-battered Fuping County in north China's Hebei Province has basically restored damaged infrastructures and facilities by Sunday afternoon, with people's life and production activities gradually recovering.

Fuping recorded its highest single-day precipitation while torrential rain lashed the region from Friday to Saturday. The average rainfall in the county reached 140.5 millimeters from 17:00 Friday to 01:00 Saturday.

Shijicheng, a community with 976 households, saw one of the worst waterlogging during the heavy rain. Most of its residential buildings' basements were flooded, with water levels reaching as deep as 2.5 meters.

Large pumping equipment from nearby cities of Shijiazhuang and Xingtai were brought in to drain the water from the basements as soon as possible.

Having resumed access to water and power supply, the community is clearing the mud from the roads, after which it will wash away the remaining uncleared silt to restore normal appearance.

As of 14:00 on Sunday, power supply in Fuping has been basically restored. All 68 affected communities in the county seat have had their power restored, while emergency repairs in some areas are also being carried out in an orderly manner.

All medium-pressure gas pipelines and most of the low-pressure pipelines in the county had been restored by Sunday afternoon. Repairs are currently underway for a small number of remaining damaged low-pressure pipelines.

In terms of transportation, the blocked sections of the national and provincial highways in Fuping have all been cleared, with traffic expected to be fully restored by Monday evening.
