The Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has risen to 60,239, with 146,894 others injured, since the conflict between Hamas and Israel erupted on Oct 7, 2023, Gaza's health authorities said in a statement on Thursday.
The death toll since March 18 this year, following a brief ceasefire, has reached 9,071, while the number of injured stands at 34,853, the statement said.
Over the past 24 hours alone, Israeli forces have killed 101 Palestinians in the enclave, including 81 who were trying to get humanitarian aid, and injured 625 others, according to the statement.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement released on Thursday day that one of its divisions had completed its operation in northern Gaza, destroying over 1,500 facilities run by Hamas and killing dozens of its armed fighters.
